Orioles trade for Trevor Rogers
Baltimore bolster their rotation with former All-Star
Rogers joins the Orioles from Miami
BALTIMORE, MD — The Baltimore Orioles have acquired left-handed starter Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins in a trade announced Tuesday. Rogers joins the Orioles after reaching his first All-Star game in 2022. The 25-year-old pitcher has a career record of 26-27 with a 4.86 ERA in 75 starts.
The Orioles have struggled with their starting pitching this season, ranking near the bottom of the league in ERA and WHIP. Rogers is expected to slot into the middle of the Orioles rotation and help provide some stability. The Marlins are receiving a package of prospects in return for Rogers, including outfielder Jud Fabian and right-handed pitcher Tyler Swartz.
Rogers is the second major trade acquisition for the Orioles this season. The team previously acquired outfielder Anthony Santander from the Seattle Mariners.
