Early Life and Career

Desmond Harrington was born on October 19, 1976, in Savannah, Georgia. He attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and began his acting career in the late 1990s. His early roles included appearances in films such as The Hole (2001) and The Faculty (1998).

Breakthrough Role as Detective Joey Quinn

Harrington's breakthrough came in 2008 when he was cast as Detective Joseph "Joey" Quinn in the Showtime crime drama television series Dexter. Quinn, a Miami Metro Police Department homicide detective, is a flawed but complex character who played a significant role in the show's plot.

Harrington's portrayal of Quinn earned him critical acclaim and recognition. He garnered numerous award nominations for his performance, including a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
