Boston Takes Early Lead in Championship Series

Warriors Attempt Comeback in Second Half But Fall Short

In a thrilling game that saw both teams trade blows, the Boston Celtics ultimately defeated the Golden State Warriors 120-108 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night.

The Celtics came out firing in the first quarter, jumping out to a 34-24 lead. The Warriors struggled to keep up, with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combining for just 15 points in the first half.

The Warriors managed to chip away at the lead in the second half, outscoring the Celtics 33-22 in the third quarter. However, the Celtics held on to their lead and closed out the game with a strong fourth quarter.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26 points, while Jaylen Brown added 21 points. Curry led the Warriors with 27 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' strong shooting performance.

The Warriors will look to bounce back in Game 2, which will be played on Sunday night in San Francisco.
